Where can I purchase a Japan Rail Pass?

   *The Japan Rail Pass is not available in Japan.
   *An exchange order can be purchased at any approved sales office or agent
   (such as AWL Travel) before travelling to   Japan.
    this can then be exchanged for the actual pass at any station with a Japan Rail Pass    exchange office.

  Where can I use the Japan Rail Pass?

  *Railways - Below is a list of train types available to ride on the Japan Rail Network.
    There may be a few exceptions on certain routes.
 
    1) Bullet trains (with the exception of the Nozomi train)
    2) Limited express trains.
    3) Express trains.
    4) Rapid trains.
    5) Local trains.

  *Buses - Below is a list of bus companies that permit the use of the pass.
  There may be a few exceptions on certain routes.

    1) JR Hokkaido Bus
    2) JR Bus Tohoku
    3) JR Bus Kanto
    4) JR Tokai Bus
    5) West Japan JR bus
    6) Chugoku JR Bus
    7) JR Shikoku Bus Company
    8)JR Kyushu Bus

  *Ferry - The only company covered by the pass is JR Miyajima.
