Sumo
is one of Japan's most famous national sports.
Historically it was part of a ritual to the gods to encourage
a plentiful harvest.
In modern times it has evolved into the sport we see on television
consisting of
6 tournaments a year (3 held in
Tokyo,
1 in
Osaka,
1 in
Nagoya and 1 in
Kyushu).
In the West, interest in Sumo has increased recently
due to the ever rising number
of Western wrestlers competing in these tournaments.

from Bulgaria is one of the most distinctive Sumo
wrestlers today. Having recently been promoted to the rank of
'Ozeki' he has a big point to prove. |
