Covered with thick forests and surrounded by eight peaks, Mt Koya is visited by more than a million visitors annually. The history of the Fukuchi-in temple dates back to the Kamakura Era in the 12th century. Meals in the lodging area of the temple are vegetarian. Communal baths are available 24 hours a day.
