This tour combines our popular guided Mt. Fuji & Hakone day tour with a stay at an onsen hotel in Hakone! Enjoy views of and from Japan's towering national symbol, Mt. Fuji, experience the scenic beauty of Hakone, and then relax in Hakone's famous natural hot springs.
Day 1 - 9:00 a.m.
Depart Hamamatsucho Bus Terminal to visit the following by bus.
*Report at least 10 minutes prior to departure.
Fuji Visitor Center (20 min)
Find out the current weather conditions, history, formation, and ecology of Mt. Fuji through exhibits and movies. The second floor observatory deck provides views of Mt. Fuji from up close.
Mt. Fuji 5th Station (30 min)
Climb 2,300 meters (7,546 ft) above sea level for breathtaking views of Mt. Fuji and the surrounding lakes on a clear day. Torii gates, shrines, and souvenir shops decorate this station known as the border between the heavens and the earth.

Enjoy a Japanese-style meal.
Lake Ashi cruise (15 min)
Go for a sightseeing cruise on Lake Ashi. The crater filled lake was born from a powerful volcanic eruption nearly 3,000 years ago and provides postcard views of Mt. Fuji from various angles.
Mt. Komagatake Ropeway (50 min)
Catch sweeping views of Mt. Fuji, Lake Ashi, Izu Peninsula, Izu Islands, Hakone National Park, and more while climbing up and down the mountain on an aerial cableway.
4:00 - 6:00 p.m.
Arrive at Hotel Kowakien. Check-in for the night.
Day 2 - Morning
Free time until the afternoon. Use Hakone 2-Day Free Pass for discounts on admission fees to more than 30 tourist facilities, free rides on Hakone Mountain Railway, cable cars, buses, and for transportation by local bus or train to Odawara Station.
5:00 - 7:00 p.m.
Arrive at Odawara Station. Ride the Kodama bullet train (40 min).
5:40 - 7:40 p.m.
Pass through Shin-Yokohama and Shinagawa Station and arrive at Tokyo Station. Disembark at station of choice. Tour concludes upon arrival.

1. Mt. Komagatake Ropeway may not be visited due to traffic on the following days. 2013: Oct 26; Nov 2, 3, 4, 9, 16, 23; Dec 28, 39, 30. 2014: Jan 1, 4, 5; May 6; JUl 21, 26, 27; Aug 2, 3, 16, 17, 23, 24, 30, 31; Sep 6, 15, 20, 27; Oct 4, 13, 18, 25; Nov 3, 8, 15, 24; Dec 27, 28, 29, 30.
2. Heavy traffic is expected on Oct. 12 and Nov. 2, 3. Depending on road and traffic conditions Hakone may be replaced by Lake Kawaguchi. No refunds or cancellations will be made in such cases. Also, arrival times at Tokyo are expected to be delayed to between 8:00 and 10:00 p.m.
3. If Fuji Visitor Center is closed or the tour is behind the schedule due to traffic, Fuji Visitor Center may be skipped.
4. If the road to Mt.Fuji's 5th station is closed due to heavy snow or the tour is behind schedule due to traffic, the tour will be taken as high as possible.
5. As temperatures drop significantly on Mt. Fuji, it is recommended to bring an overcoat or other warm clothing in fall, winter, and spring.
6. The tour will not be cancelled or refunded if Mt. Fuji is not visible (partially or fully) due to the weather conditions.
7. Komagatake Ropeway or cruise on Lake Ashi may be omitted or substituted depending on traffic, weather conditions, or other operational concerns. If either or both are omitted the following alternatives may be used: Narukawa Art Museum in Hakone, Itchuku Kubota Art Museum, cruise on Lake Kawaguchi, pirate boat on Lake Ashi, Hakone En Aquarium, Hakone Shrine, Hakone Ropeway (Owakudani Valley), or Lake Kawaguchi Ropeway. Your tour guide will finalize alternatives based on careful consideration of tour logistics and other conditions.
8. The guide may not accompany back to Tokyo. In this case, information on how to return to hotels will be provided.
9. The bus may make multiple stops at hotels in Hakone to drop off overnight guests after sightseeing concludes.
10. The tickets for the Shinkansen used on Day 2 cannot be changed to any Shinkansen other than the one listed on the ticket.
11. This tour is for overseas travelers only. Japanese citizens may not join this tour without the accompaniment of an overseas traveler.
12. No refunds will be made for the return tickets regardless of any other arrangements you may have made (e.g., JR Pass).
13. On Day 1, the hotel's shuttle may be used for transportation to the hotel.
14. Vegetarian and wheat-free meal options are available for lunch on Day 1.
15. Minimum number of participants required to operate this tour: 1. If this number is not met by 4 days before a given departure date, that departure date may be cancelled.
