This 2-day package departing from Tokyo includes guided tours of both Kyoto and Nara, one night in a Kyoto hotel, and return fare to Tokyo.
Day 1: Tokyo - Kyoto - Nara - Kyoto
Tour departs from Hamamatsucho Bus Terminal at 9:00 a.m. Pickup service is available. English-speaking staff will assist you in boarding a Shinkansen Nozomi super express from Tokyo Station for the classical city of Kyoto. Departure times from Tokyo Station will be between 9:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Enjoy a splendid view of imposing Mt.Fuji en route (weather permitting). After arriving in Kyoto, enjoy a buffet-style lunch. Afternoon tour by motorcoach to Nara, the first permanent capital of Japan. Visit Todaiji Temple, the world's largest wooden structure and home to a great image of Buddha; colorful Kasuga Taisha Shrine with its 3,000 stone lanterns; and Nara Park, where a tamed herd of sacred deer freely roam amidst the sightseers. Return to Kyoto by motorcoach. Stay overnight at your accommodation in Kyoto. Hotel varies by tour grade.
Day 2: Kyoto - Tokyo
Morning guided tour of Kyoto by motorcoach, visiting Kinkakuji Temple, called the Golden Pavilion for its glittering walls; Nijo Castle, noted for its gorgeous interiors; and the elegant Kyoto Imperial Palace. Enjoy a Western-style buffet lunch. (Depending on the tour date, lunch may be a Japanese-style buffet instead of a set.) After lunch, afternoon guided tour of Kyoto by motorcoach, visiting Sanjusangendo Temple with its 1,001 impressive images of Buddha; vermilion-hued Heian Jingu Shrine; and Kiyomizudera Temple, featuring spectacular views from its wooden veranda. In the evening English-speaking staff will assist you in boarding a Shinkansen Nozomi super express train back to Tokyo. Departure times from Kyoto Station will be between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Tour ends upon arrival at Tokyo Station between 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. Drop-off service to major hotels in Tokyo is available.
Sep 2013 - Please note that part of Kasuga Grand Shrine is currently undergoing repairs and cannot be viewed. Repairs are expected to finish by mid Dec.

Remarks
1. This tour is offered for travelers from overseas only.
2. We recommend leaving the majority of your luggage with your hotel in Tokyo, and to bringing only a single smaller piece as space on the train is limited.
3. On Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays and certain other days, Kyoto Imperial Palace is closed. The tour will visit Nishi Honganji Temple instead.
4. On Tuesdays in January, August and December, or Wednesdays if Tuesday is a national holiday, Nijo Castle is closed. The tour will visit Ryoanji Temple instead.
5. Heian Shrine will be replaced by Chishaku-in Temple on October 22 during the Jidai Festival when closed to the public.
6. Tour participants are required to fill out a form including name, sex, age, and nationality when entering the Kyoto Imperial Palace.
7. Please inform us of your place of stay for the dates immediately before and after this tour departs.
8. Drop off service can only be provided to/from certain hotels.
9. Please note that while special requests for room types or non-smoking rooms are passed on to the hotel at the time of reservation, accommodating such requests is at the discretion of the hotel, and no guarantees are made as to availability.
